华盛顿州立大学(Washington State University)精细农业与农业自动化中心(Center for Precision & Automated Agricultural Systems)长期进行果园自动化及智能化技术方面的研究,包括机械化采摘新鲜水果、机械化除草、无人机在农林业中的应用、机械剪枝、精细灌溉、果实品质检测、果园管理及运输等。中心主要成员LavR. Khot博士为该校生物系统工程系精细农业的助理教授,主要从事信息感知技术方面的研究,包括果树精细喷药、果实品质无损检测等,发表SCI/EI论文37篇,获批3项美国专利。
